What Feels Right About This?

All NFL eyes turn to Peyton Mannings next stop – USATODAY.com.

This still feels wrong.  If Luck spends a year on his back from no experience and a weak front line how will that be better? (Vinnie Testaverde, anyone?)  Irsay gutted a team that simply was lost without its injured leader. Now with almost no continuity or momentum, they say goodbye to perhaps the best QB ever.  I think Luck would’ve rather learned from the best.

Whoever gets Manning gets a champion. It’s not about how hard he can throw at this stage of his career. It’s about championships and knowing how to lead and win. If he throws a little shorter I’m pretty sure wide outs will still be able to catch his throws. (Maybe with a few less bruises!) he knows how to create. Not just individual plays, but victories. Not just victories, but winning seasons.  Not just winning seasons, but Super Bowl victories.

I will always wonder how it would’ve been worse to keep the coaches, pay the man and give it one year.
