“…and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
Jesus in Matthew 10:39
Sometimes losing has more meaning than winning. BYU threw away a dream season in the eyes of many. But in terms of morality “…rhymes with winning, anyone? Winning. Sorry, didn’t make the rules.” Division I athletic programs have a history of rewriting their standards when winning is on the line. In a refreshing development, the No 3 team was crushed by an unranked team. And it hurts so good. Integrity is a term not closely associated with sports these days. But today? At BYU? It means something.
We can debate theology. I’m not a Mormon and i don’t play one on TV. I think they have some teachings that don’t fit how i read the Bible. But today? Today I’m a BYU fan. In the game that really matters…winning!
I pray this will lead to good things for Davies and for BYU.
